Abstract. Irawati W, Pinontoan R, Mouretta B, Yuwono T. 2021. The potential of copper-resistant bacteria Acinetobacter sp. strain CN5 in decolorizing dyes. Biodiversitas 23: 680-686. Bacteria with multi-resistance to copper and dyes may be employed bioremediation dye waste more effectively than physical or chemical remediation. This study aims at determining the effect addition various textile on growth its ability decolorize resistance test was carried out by inoculating bacterial isolates into Luria Bertani media containing 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500 ppm twelve used were methylene blue, malachite green, congo red, mordant orange, reactive black, direct yellow, basic fuchsine, dispersion remazol wantex red. decolorization activity analyzed spectrophotometry a 300-900 nm wavelength. results demonstrated that thrived 50 all dyes, except green dye. found resistant up red 450 ppm. also able 57.64%, 53.17%, 91.37%, 67.50%, respectively. 5 mM CuSO4 medium increased from 57.64% 82.58%.

Identification and toxigenic potential of a cyanobacterial strain (Stigomena sp.)
Cyanobacteria are well known for their production of a multitude of highly toxic substances . The genus Stigomena is regarded as good candidates for producing biologically active secondary metabolites, which are highly toxic to humans and other animals. The carcass of a dog was found at the shore of Lake Ali-Abad, Iran. Biomass from the discovery site appeared to be of cyanobacterial nature. We...
متن کاملScreening of freshwater fungi for decolorizing multiple synthetic dyes
The biodegradation of synthetic dyes by fungi is emerging as an effective and promising approach. In the present study, freshwater fungal strains isolated from submerged woods were screened for the decolorization of 7 synthetic dyes. Subsequently, 13 isolates with high decolorization capability were assessed in a liquid system; they belonged to 9 different fungal species. Several strains exhibi...
متن کاملNaturally transformable Acinetobacter sp. strain ADP1 belongs to the newly described species Acinetobacter baylyi.
Genotypic and phenotypic analyses were carried out to clarify the taxonomic position of the naturally transformable Acinetobacter sp. strain ADP1. Transfer tDNA-PCR fingerprinting, 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, and selective restriction fragment amplification (amplified fragment length polymorphism analysis) indicate that strain ADP1 and a second transformable strain, designated 93A2, are me...
متن کاملIsolation and phylogenic analysis of emerging new antibiotic resistant bacteria, Acinetobacter lwoffii, associated with mortality in farmed rainbow trout
Whereas it is well documented that the genus Acinetobacter is associated with antibiotic resistant bacteria and human clinical infections, there are very few studies to date that report it as an emerging new pathogen for fish. In the present study, Acinetobacter lwoffii was isolated from diseased rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) from Iranian farms, in the Khuzestan Province by both biochemic...
متن کاملEnhanced phenol degradation by immobilized Acinetobacter sp. strain AQ5NOL 1.
A locally isolated Acinetobacter sp. Strain AQ5NOL 1 was encapsulated in gellan gum and its ability to degrade phenol was compared with the free cells. Optimal phenol degradation was achieved at gellan gum concentration of 0.75% (w/v), bead size of 3 mm diameter (estimated surface area of 28.26 mm(2)) and bead number of 300 per 100 ml medium. At phenol concentration of 100 mg l(-1), both free a...
